More on the Round Robin Quilts
This is the border I did for Kerry's quilt. I was the first on I had a border with triangles
Next was Beryl which the border had to have 2 1/2 inch squares plus another measurement.

Next I got Steph's which had to have on point.

Denise's I had to do applique in the border. My first mitred corner.

And finally the last quilt is Sarah's which really got had as the materials were getting down. I did a post and rail.

The quilts turned out so beautiful each so different. I think it would be so interesting to use the same materials so instructions we 6 women and see how different the would be. Thank you to all the ladies that were involved. It was a pleasure. Look forward to the next challenge.

My round robin quilt theme was christmas I started with a gingerbread man in the centre and around it went
Sarah was first to add a border which had to have triangles in it and had to be no less than 3 1/2 wide and no larger than 4 1/2
Then to Denise those border had to include 2 1/2 squares and at least one other measurement and be no wider the 5 1/2. Denise put little christmas trees in the border with some scraps I put in and presents in the corners.
Onto Steph who only had the limitations of something had to be on point

Beryl appliques holly and a variegated zig zag in a cream border.

Then last border was Kerry who had to use at least 6 different fabrics on more then 9 must include 1 1/2 strips and 12 yo yo's and the border to finish at 6 1/2

I am really really happy with the way my quilt has turned out. Could never image what wonder work the girls would come up with. Thanks to the girls It's amazing. I will think of you every christmas when I decorate my home with it. I have got it ready to be sent away to be quilt of the back I am putting baubles with the each girls name on them.
Looking forward to the next challenge

I'm back

After a fabulous weekend at GDTIC. I have been busy creating again. The energy in th ehall over the weekend has recharged me. I am trying to finish off UFP so I can begin work on Annie's patterns. What a beautiful person. I look forward to seeing what she has for us next year.

I went home after the weekend and made Kerry & Vicki the beautiful wool pin cushion

I really enjoyed making them, the wool was wonderful to work with. I brought more to create another beautiful project.
The colours are just gorgous. Thanks Pete.
Look forward to sharing my creations with you

After finishing the quilts , My husband and I left the children 7 yrs, 5yrs and 16 mths with nan & pop and headed off to Tassie for a wedding Easter Saturday. We headed off Wednesday before and had a look about. Had an adventure getting down, missed the flight in Melbourne as the flight was an hour leaving Newcastle, but we ended up getting there after paying for new flights but anyway landed in Hobart got the car and off we went. The Wednesday afternoon we headed up to Mt Wellington what a view, this is the board walk.

This was the view from the south the fog was rolling in. It was just magical

Day 2 We headed down to Port Arthur what an amazing place taking away recent events. We went on a guided tour. Tour Guide was great What a character. Didn't get a lot of time we only spent the morning. Went on the harbour cruise. Had a quick look around the church and the formal gardens . This is a photo of the Penitentiary from the harbour

This is the west wing of the penitentiary with the remains of the hospital behind.

This is the Penitentiary from the formal gardens of the Government Cottage.

Unfortunately the camera went on me and I could take any more photos. But an amazing place that I will go back to but allow a couple of days.

Stay tuned for Day 3 and 4
Happy Stitiching

My heavens where does time go I know it had been a while but this is ridiculous. What has happened since last post. Went to Girls day out in the country back in May. What a day they are. Good food. Great friends, Beautiful projects. Not long enough. I have finished one and a half of the projects will post photos soon as I finish number two. The punchneedle may take a while.

One tuesday class at the cottage. the ladies all brought scrap fabrics to make quilts for the Victoria Fire Victims. Having an 14month old I don't seem to get as much done on Tuesday as I use to, so I made these two quilts. Complete one fully but the other I had quilted by a friend mum in town.

Were is the time going, I can not believe its been a month since last posting, I have been busy doing what I'm not sure. Although I have got these to show. Pencil Cases for the kids. Large one open for my teenage son, pink ballerina's for my daughter and Rodeo for my school starter.
I have found them to make great birthday presents too. These one I made formy sons mates 5th birthday along with $5 roll inside.
So every childrens party my children get an invite to. This will be what they will receive. It's hard to know what kids have got these days or what they are into.

Yours in friendship
Sharon
